What It Does #
Sales Notifications show real-time alerts about recent purchases on your site to visitors. Each notification typically displays something like “John just purchased [Product Name]” with the product image, creating social proof and urgency. This helps build trust and can increase conversions by showing that others are buying.
Requirements #
- WooCommerce — Must be installed and active. Notifications are based on real WooCommerce orders (completed and processing).
- Orders — You need at least one completed or processing order for notifications to appear. The feature picks randomly from recent orders.
Sales Notifications is included with the free Helpmate plan. One template is free; additional templates require Helpmate Pro.
Turn On Sales Notifications #
- In the WordPress admin, go to Helpmate → Automations → Sales → Sales Notifications.
- Use the Enable Module switch at the top to turn the feature on.
- Set Show Frequency and choose a Template (see below), then click Save.
When the module is enabled and WooCommerce has orders, notifications appear on the frontend as toast-style popups at the configured interval.
Settings #
Show Frequency
How often a new notification is shown to visitors. Options include:
- 5 Seconds, 10 Seconds, 30 Seconds
- 1 Minute, 2 Minutes, 5 Minutes, 15 Minutes, 30 Minutes, 1 Hour
Template
Three notification layouts:
- Template 1 — Default layout (free). Shows customer name, product, image, and time in a compact toast.
- Template 2 — Compact layout (Pro only).
- Template 3 — Detailed layout (Pro only).
Select by clicking the template preview in the settings. Template 1 is free; Templates 2 and 3 require Helpmate Pro. If you do not have Pro, clicking those templates will open the Helpmate pricing page.
How It Works for the Visitor #
- Visitor lands on a page where Helpmate is loaded.
- After the configured frequency (e.g. every 30 seconds), a small notification pops up (typically bottom-right), e.g. “John just purchased Blue T-Shirt” with the product image.
- The notification auto-dismisses after a few seconds. The visitor may be able to click to open the product page (depending on the template).
- New notifications appear at the set interval while the visitor browses.
Data is pulled from your real WooCommerce orders (completed and processing). Each notification shows one recent order’s first item. The system picks randomly among recent orders so notifications feel varied.
