Purchase and Activate Pro API Key

Why Go Pro? #

Helpmate Pro unlocks more domains, higher credit limits, and premium features (e.g. optional use of your own OpenAI API key when license credits are exhausted, social/CRM features). To use Pro, you purchase a plan, get your API key from your RhapsodyPlugins account, and activate it in the plugin — the same key field used for the free tier.

Step 1: Choose a Plan #

Visit the Helpmate pricing page and pick the plan that fits your needs. Compare limits and features there before checkout.

Step 2: Complete the Purchase #

  1. Click the Buy Now button.
  2. Enter payment details securely (credit card, PayPal, or other methods offered).
  3. Review plan details and complete the transaction.
  4. You’ll receive a confirmation email after the purchase.
  5. You’ll be redirected to RhapsodyPlugins account page where you will find you license key.

Step 3: Get Your API Key and Pro Plugin #

  1. Log in to your account at rhapsodyplugins.com/login (the same login you use for free keys, or the account created at checkout).
  2. Open your account/dashboard and find your API keys. Your new Pro key is a string of characters (e.g. XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX) that identifies your subscription.
  3. Copy and save the API key in a secure place — you’ll paste it into the plugin in the next step.
  4. If your plan includes the Pro plugin download, use the Download Pro Plugins (or equivalent) option on your account page and install/activate the Helpmate Pro plugin on your WordPress site.

Step 4: Activate the API Key in the Plugin #

You can activate your Pro API key in either place:

  • During setup: If the setup wizard is showing, use the Activate Your API Key card, paste your API key, and click Activate API Key.
  • After setup: Go to Helpmate → Manage API Key in the WordPress admin. Paste your API key in the Helpmate API Key field and click Activate Api Key (or Change Api Key if you’re replacing an existing key).

After a successful activation you’ll see confirmation and your API Key Type will show the Pro plan (e.g. the plan slug). Credits will sync from the server; you can use Sync Credits to refresh usage.

Step 5: Manage Your API Key #

Manage your subscription and key from your account at rhapsodyplugins.com/login:

  • View key and details: See expiration, domain count, and credit usage.
  • Manage domains: Add or remove domains allowed to use this key (within your plan’s limit).
  • Add credit: Top up credits if your plan supports it.
  • Upgrade or cancel: Change plan or cancel from the account area as offered.

In the plugin, Helpmate → Manage API Key shows:

  • Current API key (masked), option to show full key, and Change Api Key / Activate Api Key.
  • Credit Usage for your plan’s features (e.g. AI response, data source).
  • Sync Credits to refresh usage from the server (Pro).
  • OpenAI API Key (Pro only): optional. When set, it can be used when your license credits are exhausted so chats can continue without interruption.

Changing or Upgrading Your API Key #

If you click Change Api Key while you already have a key, the plugin will warn you:

  • Trained data (knowledge base) is tied to the current API key. Changing to a different key means you must remove existing trained data and train again.
  • If you’re on the free plan and need more features or credits, use Upgrade Api Key in that dialog to go to the upgrade/claim flow so you can keep the same key and data while moving to Pro.
  • If you still want to switch keys, use Change Api Key Anyway and then retrain your data as needed.

Troubleshooting #

IssueWhat to do
Activation fails / domain limitYour plan allows a limited number of domains. Remove an unused domain from your key at rhapsodyplugins.com/login, or upgrade to a plan with more domains.
Invalid or expired keyConfirm you pasted the full key from the account dashboard. If the key has expired, renew or upgrade from your account page.
Forgot API keyLog in at rhapsodyplugins.com/login and open your account to view and copy the key. If you can’t access the account, contact support.
Pro features not showingEnsure the Helpmate Pro plugin is installed and activated, and that you’ve activated a Pro API key (not the free key). Sync credits from Manage API Key if needed.
