What It Does #
Behavior controls how the chatbot appears and greets users. You can set one or more welcome messages (the bot may pick one at random or in order), turn welcome message sound on or off, and choose whether to hide the chatbot on small screens (e.g. under 600px). These settings help you control the first impression and accessibility of the widget.
Requirements #
- Helpmate — No extra requirements. Behavior is part of Settings.
Where to Configure #
Go to Helpmate → Automation → Customization and open the Behavior tab.
Settings #
- Welcome message(s) — Add multiple welcome messages; the chatbot may use one when the user opens the chat. Add a line of text and click Add; remove any you do not want.
- Welcome message sound — Toggle to play a sound when the welcome message is shown.
- Hide on Mobile — When enabled, the chatbot is hidden on viewports under 600px width.
Save changes after editing. Behavior works together with Appearance (widget look) and Chatbot (tone/language) under the same Settings page.
